About the Centre for Media and Communication
The Centre for Media and Communication (CMC) of the Pan-African University was established to help practitioners in the industry improve standards, professionalize their activities and communicate good values.

The mission of the Centre is to provide cutting edge research findings and Professional Education Services that will assist practitioners in media and communication to optimize their creative skills and better serve their communities.

The CMC is envisioned to be the leading centre in Nigeria and Africa in research and training for professionals in media and communication. Graduates of the programme are expected to uphold the highest intellectual, ethical and professional values that promote creativity, responsibility and best practice.

Objectives:

  • To mount short-term training courses, workshops and seminars for communication professionals with a view to enhancing and optimizing their skills.
  • To undertake long-term training and certificate programmes for professionals in media and communication.
  • To engage in research in communication that serves the direct and indirect needs of the industry, the country, and Africa at large.
  • To contribute significantly to the greater professionalization of important segments of the industry, in particular the film industry.
  • To be a resource centre for professionals in the communication industry.
  • To hold conferences and forums that will serve as contexts for research in and discussion of challenges facing the communication and media industry in Nigeria and Africa.
